First ever wind farm in Peru
Responsible for the site supervision and design review Tractebel Engineering (Peru) assists ContourGlobal to build the first ever wind farm in Peru to meet the growing energy demand.

tractebel-engineering-veloso-ivanThe contract with ContourGlobal is the first signed by Tractebel Engineering Peru, established in the second half of last year. “The whole experience and expertise of LEME Engenharia – Tractebel Engineering (Brazil) in their nearly 50 years of work were the assets to choose us for this project. Moreover, we are more than two years working on projects in Peru in several areas wherein we have achieved a great understanding of the business and opportunities that the country offers, ” says Ivan Veloso, sales manager and responsible for the office of Tractebel Engineering in Lima. The participation of Tractebel Engineering (Brazil) in wind power projects in Brazil since 2010, plus the expertise of the parent company in the area were also factors that contributed to the selection of the company.

The Inka Wind Power Complex features two wind farms with a total installed capacity of 110 MW, to be built along the northern shore or Peru, approximately 400km apart: in Talara 17 towers totalling 30 MW and in Cupinisque 45 towers to generate 80 MW.
