Technum – Tractebel Engineering was founded in July 2008, following the merger of Technum and Tractebel Development Engineering. In Belgium, both Tractebel Engineering and Technum brands are active.
Technum was established in 1995 by Tractebel Engineering after a merger between Groep Swartenbroekx and Groep Varendonck, both Flemish engineering companies specialised in infrastructure.
Tractebel Development Engineering was established in 1988, following the merger between Electrobel and Tractionel that created Tractebel. Tractebel Development Engineering bundled all infrastructure activities of the new Tractebel.
Technum – Tractebel Engineering’s Consultancy activities are branded as TRITEL.
The marine and hydraulic engineering activities are covered by the affiliate IMDC.
